The DOCTOR ORANGE self-contained psychological horror comic Kickstarter is funded! If you’re a backer, thank you! If not, head on over to drorangecomic.com to get on the Halloween train. It’s only going through September 7th. We’re entering the middle third of the campaign, which is always rough.
We just put up some stretch goals. At $2,250, we will add an 8-page story, Mary, Revised, to all copies of DR. ORANGE. This story is complete but not yet published. The story is about the best friend of a teenage girl who has just died. She tells us two stories of the girl’s life, one mundane and the other fantastic, in a tale about stories and how they can take on lives of their own. The first page is below.
I’m also hosting a Comics AMA Feed about DOCTOR ORANGE. It will go live at 11 AM CDT on Friday the 24th. Feel free to ask me any question there. You can post at any time but the questions and answers there will only go live at that time. Then you can see my answers, respond, and ask me additional ones in real time.
Later that day, I will be at the main branch of the Williamson County Public Library in Franklin, TN, from 2-4 PM for a signing. If you’re a local don’t hesitate to stop by! It will be embarrassing otherwise.
I also want to mention another Kickstarter that’s running now. If you’re familiar with Nerd Nation Radio, you’ll know I did an interview there not long ago and you’ll also know that they publish an anthology comic, Nerd Nation Presents, in which I had a story in issue # 2 and will also have one each in #s 3 and 4. Nerd Nation is now running a Kickstarter to raise money to continue to support the indie comic community. You can get copies of Nerd Nation’s books as well as other indie comics and merchandise. Check it out here.
