Welcome to the kickstarter for Cat & Mouse #1!

Some of you might recognize the title from the comic from the 1980s and early 90s that I wrote with art from the fantastically talented Mitch Byrd. That series had a dedicated fan following and some critical acclaim. This is not that story or even the same “Cat” and “Mouse,” but fans of that series will recognize several secondary characters from volume 1 and this story is written very much with the same spirit as the original series.

The Story

So what is this story? What’s this Cat & Mouse (volume 2) about?

Our pitch is this: When Brett’s ex-girlfriend asks him to go to New Orleans to find her runaway sister, Bobbi, he stumbles on to a human trafficking operation run by Ms. Johnson, known on the streets as The Widowmaker. Brett has to figure a way to rescue Bobbi, and maybe take down the entire organization. Fresh out of the police academy, is he up to the task? Brett will seek the help of his friend, Jesse, an officer on the New Orleans police department, and will also receive help from … some unusual sorts.

Cat & Mouse is a crime action-crime-drama presented to you in saddle-stiched comic book format! Cat & Mouse #1 contains 22 pages of story and art.

This kickstarter is for the FIRST of four issues. The cool news is that as of launch, we’re nearly finished. We should actually finish by the time the campaign is complete, and—of course–we’ll be posting regular updates for you to follow along as we go.

The Kickstarter edition has an EXCLUSIVE Kickstarter only wraparound cover. We may print it as a poster or include it in a future comic in the form of a pin-up, but the only people who can get this as a COVER to a comic are backers of this Kickstarter! We’ll only print for the number of backers (plus a few extra for possible damages and for the creative team).
