I graduated many years ago from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art, Inc. but was never able to break into the comics market. I began working as a freelance illustrator, then a contemporary figurative painter until some years back, through a series of circumstances, I came back to my first love, comics. Over those years being away from comics, I realized that comics are a unique artform and began experimenting with this medium. I explore how we "read images" and comics are unique that it uses images to tell and evoke a story. I began introducing modern art techniques, surrealism, the Metapanel started by Will Eisner, my own contemporary figurative style, and painted my webcomic inspired by the numerous painted comics from the 80's by artists such as Bill Seinkeiwicz, Kent Williams, Dave McKean; but also inspired by European Comic Artists such as Moebius, Milo Manara, Juan Gimenez, Enki Bilal to name a few. I began a webcomic "UNtitled" to see what the reaction would be to my experimentation and thankfully, many people enjoyed what I was doing. However, doing a fully painted comic takes time and money so after many years of posting it for free, I now need funding to be able to continue my comics with a technique I call "Sequential SurRealism: showing the surrealism behind the realism". I ask for support to be able to continue my journey doing comics, treating it and showcasing that comics are art.-Claudio GhirardoWith Every Post you Share on Social Media we want You to do
