I got to Attend the 2017 Dragon until that convention I did not think anything could be more intense than NYCC. DRAGON Take over Downtown Atlanta, From an amazing Parade of Cosplay to the Hotel Jumping (Each hotel Holds a Theme From Comics, Games and special events ) and with the amount of Fans flooding the street Dragon on Owns Atlanta for a few days. Now it wasn’t the biggest Comic-Con I had been to and truth be told I wish Comics where a bigger part of the event. Nor were the biggest Panels of the year hosted there. In fact, Panels were lacking star power for the most part, but that is the interesting thing about the event.
If we are honest most Comic-Cons are run like a business, at least the large ones are. So they get as much star power as they can but often and truthfully do not tailor to fans. They Overcharge for Autographs and limit the amount of time stars are on the floor and use them as a draw. Now I get this is done for many reasons and that is just the norm now. So that’s, not a dig it’s just the truth of how big cons now operate. The thing is Dragon Con feel different. It feels like the people gather to meet each other, Dressed up and transformed into their cosplay and enjoy a Weekend of fun and celebration of creativity and fandom.
While the getting around town is hard on legs especially mine I will say this it was an experience I will never forget and look back on fondly. I am shocked Dragon Con is not a more well-known event and celebrated more. It is truly a Con you must go to, but do not call it a comic con, call it a FAN CON or better yet its Perfect name DRAGON CON
