Letter to my congressman sent. It ended up being almost 2 pages. Our congressman is new, just took office last month, so I’m not sure what to expect. He is a veteran himself though, so I’m hoping he’ll take this serious. Everything the VA put me through the past few weeks has really ignited something in me. Because I know that there are other vets who went through the same thing but did not make it out. It breaks my heart to know so many veterans are pushed to the point of taking their lives, and all because the VA can’t be bothered to care. This is something I’m not letting go. I’m pushing for a meeting with the director of the Fort Wayne VA, then I’m going to start pushing for meetings with whoever is above that person. I’m requested a meeting with my congressman and I’ll keep at it until I can look him in the eye and tell him my story. Enough is enough, and I’m not resting until I see something change.
I’m also working on a write up of everything that happened so I can start sending it off to media outlets, as well as a video people can share around describing the whole experience in detail. I’m past my limit with the VA. They are failing veterans and we’re dying because of it. I’m not standing by silently anymore.
