>
> ISN'T CREATING STORY BOARDS AN EASY JOB?
> _ _
> No more easy than any other creative endeavor. Creating story boards means distilling the creative thoughts and vision from words on a page and make the actions that have been described flow together with an organic rhythm. It also takes being able to help the director and cinematographer to plot out their shots, camera angles, and crew needs for any given shoot as well as the cinematic vision to see and present the intended physical actions to an audience in a believable way.

>
> WHO INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE A CHANCE AND MAKE YOUR OWN COMIC?
>__
>A number of people have gotten behind my vision and desire to build this comic book world. The inspiration came initially from myself though. As I wrote, the words seemed to come to life in my head with a very strong visual aesthetic. I wanted to present my world to people in as many formats as possible so people that like to digest their stories in different ways could dive into Johnny's world no matter their tastes.
It was not until I passed the idea along to my friends and family and was forced to explain my broad reaching vision for Johnny Scotch that really convinced me to pull the trigger and go all in. Without the support from my wife, parents, and friends I would not have gotten past printing my first page let alone sending a whole comic to print and traveling to promote it at Con's.

> IF YOUR PROJECT BECAME A MOVIE OR TV WOULD YOU BE COMFORTABLE WITH
> SOMEONE ELSE WORKING ON YOUR STORY BOARDS ?
> __
> Dan Schaefer would have to be the one at the helm for a vast majority of it. He knows the character, knows the world, and has the experience of creating visceral action scenes that I would love to see transferred onto the screen with Johnny. But I might be biased since he already illustrates the stories. :)

> DO YOU THINK SEXUALITY IS OVER USED OR, IS IT USED HONESTLY AND WE ARE AFRAID TO ADMIT THAT WHO WE ARE AS A SPECIES ?
>
> I think it depends on the context. Should we be using sexuality to sell potato chips? Not in my opinion. Should we be willing to show characters in real situations, interacting honestly and in a sexual way as depicted in content specifically written for adults? Absolutely. I write my characters and stories for adults who are able and willing to enjoy and appreciate adult moments. That includes sexual content. With a character like Johnny Scotch, I am not writing for kids. I believe that our society simplifies the idea of sex and sexuality. It is not a good or a bad thing to depict sexual situations in entertainment. If it is pertinent to the story then let it fly. I believe it is parents responsibility to keep track of the content their families are consuming and making the decision wether it is appropriate for their little Timmy to be reading or watching what they are. It is a creators responsibility to create entertaining and sometimes thought provoking content.

> OBVIOUSLY JOHNNY'S GOT ANGER ISSUES, DO YOU THINK SOCIETY IS
> BUILDING JOHNNY'S RIGHT NOW WITH HOW UNJUST THE WORLD HAS BECOME?
>
> I don't know if I would call them anger "issues" per se. Johnny has a temper and a code. He does not condone bullies. He does not sit by while bad things happen. He happens to have the skills and mentality to act when physical situations arise.
With regards to society; society has always breed violence and anger. We are a species that thrives on dominance and war. I like to hope that as our cultures grow closer together that the violence and intolerance that seems rampant right now is a stepping stone to acceptance and growth. Learning to work together, thrive together, tolerate differences, this is hard for our human brains to deal with. We do tend to be able to work through much of these growing pains as we evolve, the catch is that it takes a long time to evolve and we are not a very patient lot. Mistakes hurt, growing hurts, evolving hurts. I get by day by day with the hope and vision of a future that I will probably never see but hopefully my child will, where our society is able to work through this painful intolerance and grow together into a more tolerant and peaceful world.

> What is the ultimate goal for Johnny Scotch?
>
> The broad vision of Johnny Scotch is to be a multi story world with books, graphic novels, music CD's, and a live action presence on the big screen. Right now we have the comics/graphic novels in a rhythm. The musical world of Johnny Scotch is coming along with a live performance we do called the "Johnny Scotch Vignettes". The big screen is a whole other beast to tackle but I am looking forward to whatever real world adventures Johnny brings me.

> Hand down what super hero is the worst one ever created and why?
>
> I'm gonna get in trouble for this, but Superman. I have never been a huge fan. The character always seemed too large, too clean, too good. Over the years the comics have had to create weaknesses just to try and make him relatable. I have always been more into the characters that are a bit more flawed, more human. I don't mind over the top, I just like there to be something there I can relate to as well.
