In Orlando’s biggest Comic Con Event of the Season, MEGACON A panel would reveal the Awsome Summer adventure that awaits fans of Both BATMAN and the DCU. Now for those of you who have not heard of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo they are the creative that modernized BATMAN while showing respect, love and caring to the structure of the Mythos behind the Bat. For those of you who have the pleasure to be in the room with these two fantastic creators you know, they aren’t just creators they are fans of the characters they say themselves are privileged to work on. As they speak and talk about how they craft and bring their stories to life you can hear the passion behind their words. You can hear that when they say they fight with management over ideas so they can tell us the story deserve it’s not just some PR LINE. In fact, as the panels go on it becomes clear they give away more than they are supposed to. With that in mind, I will share only the big parts that aren’t spoilers.
Now I do this not cause I don’t love you my readers and Siners but rather Scott and Greg are giving gifts to those of in attendance and sharing with us their fans and followers some insight because we have supported them and showed up to the panel. They respect fans time and energy and it shows in everything they do.
So what is METAL? To Quote Greg it is “A ROCK CONCERT come to life in a comic book from page one all they way to the end.” BATMAN breaks free from a prison riding a Dinosaur and that how it starts. Along the way, we find out BATMAN has seen something coming for a while now but only figures it full scope moments too late as a mysterious menace takes him and the DCU head on and this is a danger none of them have faced before. A Danger that even BATMAN fears Exploring. It will pit heroes against a force that has been studying their weakness and making plans on how to defeat all in their way for the purpose of controlling the DCU. This story will affect all of DCU and it will have lasting effects. But even in the DarkestMoments BATMAN has a plan. And his newly-formed teams and chosen team leaders like Damian and Nightwing have been placed into their positions for this very moment. But can Even Batman take on a force that he does not understand and win? You will have to READ BATMAN METAL THIS SUMMER TO FIND OUT.
I do strongly suggest seeking out a Panel with Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo if you are lucky enough to be in the same room with them. They are two of the most honest and down to earth creators. During a panel of theirs, you will feel like they actually came to hang out with you. I got to be at the FAN EXEPRICNE with them and it is amazing how comfortable they are around fans. They do not act better than anyone like some celebrities often do and in fact, I think they are most comfortable walking amongst us. I always see Scott Walk through the show floor and always stop for Fans. I am always impressed no matter how busy he is how much time he gives to his fans and how excited he is to talk about his work on BATMAN or just BATMAN himself. When I asked who was his favorite hero growing up at the Fan Experience Scott quickly replied in a very genuinely voice BATMAN! with this huge smile on his facYou You could tell he is living his dream and inside he is constantly haveing conversations with his younger self-making sure he treats the cowl with respect and dignity a true fan would and how a child would demand. In Scott’s core, there is no Dought a young Scott wearing a blanket as a cape running around going nannan an aaa BATMAN. At the Fan Experience event, I had the opportunity to speak with Scott and find out that his son and himself are planning a project and as he spoke about it became clear why the Bruce/Damian relationship is so powerful because he writes it from his oversized heart. So please do yourself a favor and grab for the opportunity to see both of them at the next available con you can.
