THE STORY OF THE DRAGOS
In a world that has been decimated and destroyed, an ancient sect of beings, dragon shifters called The Dragos, have risen to power. Only a remnant of humanity remains and their survival hinges on their choosing to fight or surrender to The Dragos. When Salya Salastine’s younger brother goes missing in the barren lands that’s left of civilization, Salya ventures out to find him and faces the dangers of Earth’s new rulers.
The Crowding of Dragos is about love. It’s a paranormal shifter romance story. But we are introduced to the concept of love through a sister’s fight for survival — she is fighting to get to her brother, who’s somewhere lost in a world that’s viscous and is ruled by powerful shifter beings. Salya is willing to risk life and limb for him, she stands up against those who warn her that her journey is impossible. That’s where the story takes its roots — the true nature of what is love — loves impossibility but yet its inevitability and durability.
But sibling love is just the beginning. Again, The Crowding of Dragos is a paranormal shifter romance story so Salya’s journey will force her to face herself and all that is good and bad about who she is and what this world ruled by Dragon Shifters has done to her. Her hate for the Dragos will only be measured by her love for her brother and humanity, and just maybe somehow those two will blur and somehow possibly become one when a Shifter saves her life…
WHY KICKSTARTER?
The Crowding of Dragos is a creator owned project born from my respect and adoration for literature, specifically the paranormal shifter romance genre. The genre to me is simple, but that is not to lessen it; simplicity is a strength and in it the paranormal shifter romance genre touches on some of the most important and most powerful attributes of the human condition.
This is my first creator owned project in a along time — having taken some time away from some of my own original ideas to focus on freelance writing. The Crowding of Dragos as a comic book series was spurred on by a great working relationship with Evoluzione Publishing where I’ve had the great fortune of working on several of their comic book titles as the writer, one of which is Angelica Reigns: The Faith. This creator owned project is unique in that while it is my creation, it is also a partnership with Evoluzione who will also house the title and provide a permanent home for it as part of their ownership and catalog. Also, Marco Perugini, the title’s artist, has been instrumental in its creation. He has been amazing to work with and his vision for The Crowding of Dragos literally breathes life into the words I put on the page of the script.
Last, Indie comics are a wonderful thing. A marvelous platform for creators and the use of Kickstarter as a means to connect creator to reader is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. We need you and it makes the creative process, like nature, a full circle, thus making us one in the same. We sincerely hope that those who read this, those who take a look at this Kickstarter, will help us to bring this title to life as well as provide a way for it to stay alive through your readership.
