The premise of The Fist series is simple but intriguing, especially for those interested in post WW1 history and the history of Philadelphia. It’s the story of Riley Reece, a disgruntled working class World War 1 veteran with an alcohol problem and a broken marriage who, for reason yet to be revealed, sports a black hood and becomes a menacing vigilante
Issue #1 opened with an enraged Riley Reece, acting as The Fist, unintentionally killing a corrupt murdering police officer named Eugene McConnell who was acquitted for murder. The discovery of McConnell’s body,and the rumors of a masked mystery killer, sets off a chain of violence and mayhem throughout the city .
We also get a peak into the life of Riley Reece meeting his young son, quick witted and snarky wife and his warm hearted but impressionable brother.
