When you begin to plan your Kickstarter you are greeted with a cold hard Fact that 70 percent of Kickstarters fail. Yeah… not a encouraging statistic but you hit Launch anyway and go agasint those odds. You Sweat it out and if you fail its very public for the world to see. What happens next after such a failure is based on the Creator themselves. Some will spend days telling you how it wasn’t their fault others do something complete different.
had to face this decision after running :
ALTER-LIFE: The Graphic Novel (Complete Comic Series)
To his credit he failed and let it fail. He didn’t pull the plug and he did not whine. As we reporter he Would not go gently into the Kickstarter 70 percent lite.
How to Fail with Courage and Grace all while Planing to Rise Up from that Failure
He Regrouped as he was failing and within just Days of that Loss was already starting a New Kickstarter:
He had a story to tell and he was going to tell it. He refused to accept defeat or failure and knew the backers where out there and ready. So he went to work and was able to gain a lot of support early on but than it happened the dreaded slump. The point where Kickstarters just stop getting Backers. It is like someone hits pause on your Kickstarter. Days rolled by and while the number moved closer to goal it was not fast enough and was beginning to look like deja vu. But you would never know that from how WARHEAD!!! There was never a sense that he felt like he was gonna fail. In fact there was a confidence about him and a calmness. He had learned that if you fail you don’t die. It doesn’t meant you can’t move forwards. It just means you have to try again and do something better.
was acting. He was talking about Variant covers, wishing a speedy recover for Ramon Gill (who sadly had a stroke this year and is still recovering) and his artist KATRINA KUNSTMANN’s KickstarterSo with only hours to go and a few hundred to still make towards the Kickstarter goal,
came on SPoken SiNS. Now while you watch the segment realize he is at a point where he can end his day with a second public failure. He could loos it all once again and have to face a choose of whats next for him. Here is the Video:ALter Life Final Hours on Kickstarter
Not only did
seem confident over his Victory on the Kickstarter but he was already looking past it:Village Comics A New Vision of Story Telling is Born
Caleb Thusat and Village comics now on Patreon
He had come up with a new way to be able to bring his books to life and was doing something brand new on Pateron.
is a creator and he never stops being that. He never once gave excuses or talked about his failures being anyone’s fault, just Moves forward and continues to tell his stories for the world to enjoy. So what happened that day you ask? Did have another Failed Kickstarter? No
rose from the ashes of a failed Kickstarter and not only Ran and successfully funded a kickstarter just weeks after a failed attempt for the same title but built a larger game plan. is a creator you want to model yourself after. He is not chasing a dream but doing so walking on excuses. He is a creator who owns his failures and success. He is a creator who is always planning what is Next and what he can do better. He is a Creator of Actions and not excuses. Clearly getting funded on Kickstarter is only a step for me. It is not something he does and than brags about success or even slows to enjoy it. He is already planning to launch his next Kickstater as I write this story. is a Creator to admire and take notes from as his actions demand you take him serious.
