What have you been a part of creating that you can’t help but brag about?
Cryptozoic Entertainment’s “Super Villains” sketch card set. I had the opportunity to illustrate my favorite DC villains and work on my painting skills on a small scale. It was a challenge but my style had advanced by the end of the set.
What Indie Title are you currently a huge fan of?
Let’s go with a few Texas creators: Latex Avenger, Super Newts, and Speak No Evil (Can I list that many?)

What is a Dream Project of yours??
Working on concept art for a movie…any movie. It would be a great feeling to know something that I designed (no matter how small) made it to the screen and influenced the look or tone of a film.
Is sexuality focused on too much in comic books?
It was back in the 90s. These days it seems that’s been restrained in favor of story or at least serves the story. Readers, even younger, now have more elevated tastes. I see young readers with books that are more slice-of-life, less bullets and T & A. Things seem more sophisticated.

What is the worst thing a Villain can do to a Hero?
Not challenge a hero physically or emotionally. So, I guess the answer is counter-intuitive in that the worst thing a villain can do is sometimes the best thing for the growth of the hero and makes for a compelling story.
Which Character is so over rated given the power you would kill off and why them?
Deadpool. Seems like a hybrid of other characters with nothing unique. Or maybe I just haven’t read enough of his books. As a reader I would be more interested in the classic characters that Deadpool was derived from. But I don’t want to talk trash.
What is a mistake you made in your early years that our readers can learn form ?
Not being confident enough. If you don’t believe in your work then nobody else will. Put your stuff out there in a bold and confident way without being obnoxious or arrogant. Have fun, make friends with everybody, and support other artists.
Well done you have a single paragraph to tell us why we should become fans and what you are working on now :
I take every opportunity to push my self-published series, Land of the Rats. I have five issues under my belt available in printed form and through Comixology with book 6 coming out this spring. Land of the Rats is a fantasy tale with an otherworldly setting about a hybrid rat-human and his adventures after exile from his jungle homeland (a land of rats). I use this exotic world as a vehicle to explore topics that interest me: religion and science, gender struggles, cryptozoology, etc. (It’s all over the place). The fantasy setting makes and interesting backdrop for this kind of exploration. Response has been varied with those that legitimately appreciate and are intrigued by where I’m going with the story while others have given it a look and moved on. It’s not for everyone, no doubt. But that’s ok because I set out to tell a particular kind of story and to connect with people who are in the same headspace that I’m in. But hopefully that encourages people to check it out!
